Last Month

Aloha!!

*does virtual waves*

Ahem, I just realized I have been away from my blog for almost a month, not really bad considering I have been diligently updating my Dayre (dayre.me/julia0225) but now I thought since I paid for this domain and hosting it would be a waste if I just abandon it heh.

The past last month, nothing much happened. I went on pretty smoothly about my uni life, finished the final exams and so on. For once, I have confidence about my results HAHA not because I was a good student lo but because most of the tips that the lecturers gave came out in the questions paper weee. Thank youu all my lecturers!

Will be going back to Jakarta on 11th August so for these 2 weeks I am just gonna be a rotten potato zz.

Ending off with some random photos from my camera roll.

Super good and oh-so-sinful salted egg yolk waffle from Inside Scoop. The combination of ice creams I chose was to die for 😀

P.S Tokyo @ SS2. Awfully pricey but not extraordinary. Meh.

Crazy WhatsApp group HAHAHA. You won’t believe how much dramas that we’ve been thru like drama got nothing on us ok! Hahaha.

Okay, gonna signing off from blog now, waiting for my Mcdelivery now hmm.

Toodles! X

Dimsum Buffet @ China Treasures! :)

Came across a pretty good deal from 11street.my  for all-you-can-eat dimsum at China Treasures, Sime Darby Convention Centre. Click here for the deal!

Bought for RM 86 for 2px when supposedly you have to pay RM 100 plus for normal price. Went to redeem it 2 weeks ago but being turned away by the manager in charge coz we don’t have any reservation. Turned out they don’t accept walk-ins so business must be pretty good eh.

Straight away called them to make reservation but last Wednesday was PH and it was already fully booked. Turned out can do online booking but filling up the booking form on the 11street’s page, so no need to call them up because they spend like forever to entertain your call. Online booking was surprisingly pretty smooth process, filling up the form, and I got the confirmation in less than an hour. Pro tip if you plan on dining in this restaurant.

Note that the buffet deal does not include drinks, so drinks is extra charge. We ordered this jasmine tea for 2 pax and cost us RM 5.90 for 1 pax so in total we paid RM 11.80 for the drink.

Har Gow. Was pretty dissapointed when it arrives in our table not pipping hot and we took a bite the skin was pretty hard, but the filling was ok with 3 prawns with decent sizes.

Fish paste with layered vegetables. I like all kind of fish paste so I ordered this, taste OK like the kind of fish paste you’d found at yong tau foo like that.

Fried har gor with salad sauce. Wondering where the sauce at? You have to help yourself at the self-service sauce counter haha. I was wondering where the hell is the salad sauce turned out you have to take it by yourself.

Deep fried beancurd with prawn filling. Pretty nice with decent crunchiness.

Duck wings with with soy sauce. Did not touch this because I always feel turns off with duck. K finished this all.

Charcoal bun with salted egg yolk filling. Quite OK but can’t really compare with Jin Xuan’s one ahahaha. The salted egg yolk filling oozing out when you take a bite, but it is clumped so bit dissappointing.

Dumpling with superior chicken broth. Both me and bf agreed that the broth was too sweet and too much MSG and overbearing. We felt very thirsty afterwards zz.

Must order everytime I visit dimsum restaurant. Fried yam puff with chicken and blackpepper sauce. I don’t really like yam in particular, but this I don’t mind eating at all. In fact, I love it!!

Lor Ma Kai with mushroom and chicken.

Crispy dragon beard.

Xiao Long Bao. Weee I’m by no means a Xiao long bat connoisseur but it was pretty decent in my opinion la.

KW said the soup tastes like carbonara sauce lolol.

Deep fried squid ball with cheese.

Big feast muahahaha 😀

Overall, the meal was pretty satisfying. Some dishes were hit and miss but some are quite decent and because I bought an e-voucher, was value for money also. Note that this dimsum restaurant not serving pork and it is halal restaurant. They can take time to deliver the food though, I think we waited at least 20 mins for the first few dishes, and after the crowd lesser up a bit, only the foods come out a little bit faster. Overall rating 3.5/5.0 hehehe.

VCR Coffee & Cakes

Really like my new blog so I keep updating this blog hahaha I guess it is a good thing, no? Anyway, now I am at VCR Cafe, KL for mugging session for my French exam tomorrow and it was already full house even though their opening hour is at 10:30 AM?? Even the barista told us to look for a seat when we were still queuing, because they almost reaches full house already.

Saw this cat in front of the cafe, almost look like the cafe’s mascot already ah? Haha.

The King cake slice!! It is a banana cake with peanut butter frosting, and banana in between. So so damn good, it was melt in the mouth and the combination of PB and the banana made a bomb in your mouth! Priced at RM 13 per slice, tad too pricey but I did not regret every single penny spent on this cake. I think VCR itself claimed this cake is their best-seller product, so make sure to go grab a slice when you are here ya!

Zzzz I don’t know why the photos cast a greenish shadowy, prob because the cafe’s indoor light la or maybe it is just my cam booo. Anyway, we didn’t get to seat outdoor so can’t get much natural light huff.

Wong Kok + Llaollao + Tan Ngan Lo Herbal Jelly

Today is the eve of PH (Wesak Day) so we strolled around Sunway Pyramid to have our dinner.

Wong Kok Char Chan Teng is our my favourite place for the time being! Love them because their price always so reasonable (psst, even cheaper than OldTown, and with more varieties, count me in!!) They gives out coupons for free side dishes every RM 20 purchase, so imagine how many coupons I’ve collected already haha! I think I got about 5-6 coupons already! This month’s special is Wong Kok’s specialty deep fried chee cheong fun (rice noodle roll) with super shiok dressing sauce! Telling you, it was really really damn good, I even had to lick the sauce clean off the  plate.

We always ordered a set meal because it’s value for money! Comes with fruits, drinks and soup.

Bosch soup! I remember cooked various types of soups back then semester 1, when we had cooking class,  and this soup is one of them. Some kind of tomato paste soup, pour everything in, slow cook, and there you have it! 😀

Fried noodle with bitter melon! So much of this that I have to pass it on to K! That’s the main purpose of bf right! Finishing off stuffs you can not hehehe.

K’s noodle with Taiwanese fried chicken. Did not get to taste this, though.

Stopped by at Tan Ngan Lo Herbal Jelly because I said we eats too much heaty stuffs, so must balance ma! Ehehe. Ate this halfway then only remember to snap a pic so was like, ” EH! Must take photo first!” then quickly took out my camera hahaha. #TypicalAsian

First time tried LlaoLlao Yoghurt and also first thing that strike my mind was,

”WHY THE SPOON SO LONG ONE EH??” haha but seriously, you all see it too right? Why need to be so long ah? Anyone knows??

Almost poked out our eyeballs seeing the price list! Sadly I forgot to snap a pic on the menu to give you guys a look but its around RM 10-20 well depends on what toppings you choose la. Funny story, we bought this because when we inserted the parking ticket, the amount displayed was RM 4, then we had that look.. like 10 secs? Then it strike us that today was the eve of PH, so they charged the parking fee higher. Zzz. Was running around AsianAvenue zone to look for things to purchase because we do not have any small changes, so we can pay parking, then finally settled on LlaoLlao! I’ve decided to just buy the cheapest one hahaha with add on RM 1.50 for 1 type of sauce (picked chocolate sauce)

It tastes pretty good by the way, but don’t think we will be a frequent customer laa. Once in awhile maybe still OK!

Okay, tomorrow is PH so rest well everyone! I have French midterm coming up on Thursday, so I guess gonna spend it to revising. Zzz so lame.

P.S: Edits all the photos using free app Fotor, coz I do not have Adobe Photoshop installed yet. Not too shabby right? Some professional reviewers also said Fotor is like simplified Photoshop. OK law coz I don’t use Photoshop much to do extreme editing, so Fotor already sufficient enough! But I still prefer PS more actually, you get what I mean? Hahaha.

Sunday Day Out!

KW was telling me that he had a RM 33 for 2 Kenny’s Roger set meal voucher from Watsons voucher booklet and we agreed to redeem it today. My very first time ever dine in at KRR’S whole this time.

The pasta and chicken set meal was very worth it with the voucher coz when we looked up on the menu, the original price was RM 27-ish something for 1 plate! And we only got to pay RM 33 for 2 set of meal! So so happy 😀

Set meal comes with this super yummy homemade muffin! Was telling K how good it is when I saw other table beside us did not even bother to touch the muffin and just leave it like that and almost tempted to go grab it hahaha. By the way, you also can pick the muffin’s flavours. Mine and K’s are chocolate raisin muffin.

KW’s platter! We got to pick 1 side dishes, and he chose mixed fruit platter, beef bolognaise/cream cheese pasta, he opt for cheese one but I went eeekk because cheese and pasta.. really? , 1 homemade muffin and 1 type of beverages. So worth it right?

My platter consist of chicken (thigh, my fav part!). beef bolognaise spaghetti, a bit undercooked but still fine, and 1 side dish mashed potato and gravy.

At Yubiso. Are they come from same company like Daiso or what? I think I prefer Yubiso better coz their beauty products seems not bad with affordable prices too (RM 10-20 price range)

DOMOKUN mini backpackkk! *screams internally*

At newly opened KOI cafe at Sunway Pyramid! My dad was a big fan of KOI’s Macchiato drinks and I remember telling him that KOI gonna open a branch soon in Malaysia and he was like, ”Eh? Now only open ah? Jakarta so long already got KOI leh..” LOL talk until so proud meh? Haha.

My passion fruit macchiato! Now I know why this is their best-seller product! So creamy and when you slightly stir the cream, it mixes well with your drink! So so good 🙂

School starts to get busier with bunch of final sem projects to be done (mostly Elective modules) and preparing for midterm exams that coming up in the next 2 weeks! In fact, I got one already next week, French test! I haven’t do any revision geez no excuse to slack anymore!!

How i spent my long weekend

Hello! I just can’t believe long weekend went by so fast!! Like in a blink of an eye zzz. I stayed over at bf’s place at Semenyih. I know I always complaining about staying at deserted place (at least for me!) like Semenyih but actually it is a pretty good place for recharging my mind hahaha. Because it was so calm and serene there, not overwhelmed with malls, cafes or whatsoever.

Here are few photographs to recap of what I have been doing, mostly nothing la coz I just spent whole day watching Netflix and lay around while bf got some workloads to do, and I only bug him if I’m hungry hahaha.

Anyway, been playing around with my S95 and I got nothing to say but praise!! So happy with how the pics turns out, even without post-processing editing the pics still turned out great! I set the aperture number the lowest to f2.0 to create a somewhat bokeh, and I think it is kinda do the job, don’t you think? Weeee

A mama bird building a nest on my bf’s room window. I got so excited I had to take out my cam and snap a pic tee-hee! She was actually incubating her egg, how cool is that?? 😀

Okay, so the egg has finally hatched and this is the baby bird!! Me and bf decided to name him Larry lolol. From 2andhalfmen TV series. Pls ignore the poop!! Anyway, mama bird went out somewhere to get food, I suppose.

Finally got to try out this supposedly famous satay place in Kajang, Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri. The place was forever crowded when we came and kinda hard to scored a parking spot. But I am glad the trip was worth it!! The satay was really really good, tender, and bursting with flavour. The key of good satay lies on its dipping peanut sauce (am I right??!) and it was so so damn shiok on its own too that I lick it off while waiting for the satay to arrive haha. I was quite worried I will be finishing the sauce long before the satay gets to arrive on our table, thankfully no.

The price was surprisingly so affordable and cheapzz too!! Like each of satay ranging from RM 0.80-0.90 cents! The ala carte menu was super cheap too like around RM 5-7. We ordered 20 sticks of satays (mixed from chicken, beef, fish and stomach) and total bill costs us RM 25. If it is not in Kajang, I will be coming there everyday I suppose haha. Just kidding, eat too much grilled stuffs not good for your body and super heaty too, ok!

SS2 Pasar Malam Monday!

People residing around PJ area should be familiar with SS2 Pasar Malam every Monday, right? For me, this pasar malam is my favorite to go whenever I’m craving for some light snacks, but not only food, this pasar malam also sells everything, like literally everything.. from clothes, household items, veggies and fruits, fresh poultries, and so so on! I suggest if by now you still haven’t paid a visit yet then do visit this pasar malam! But finding a parking can be a hassle, since you know, everyone loves pasar malam hahaha. Me and bf always park the car quite a distance so we always have to take a few mins walk to reach pasar malam. ;D

Everytime I visit, I must buy this lo! Like 5 pieces for RM 5 and 10 pieces for RM 9. Honestly, I don’t really mind the flavor or taste of each, bcoz each of it are different flavor for me all tastes the same liao! HAHAH..

BA BA NA NAAAA~~

OK, this is also must buy for me. Fried prawn crackerss! So good, espescially if you get the newly fried by the auntie one. Or, sometimes I specially request for the hot one since it is so crispy!
Kuih sayur or Koo Chai Kueh (according to Google!) similar like Har Gaw but the filling is chopped koo chai, anchovies, or shredded lobak. So good I can munch like 5-6 hahaha. And its healthy too!
Cheesecake tart is so popular in Msia now they start making the economic version one hahahh. Well, if you don’t feel like forking out RM 15 for Hokkaido Cheesetart one, or Pablo, you can try this. I, myself have never tried la..

Hey, this pasar malam even featured on Timeoutkl! How awesome is that?? Click here for complete address and the review! I highly believe you won’t find it hard since this pasar malam is so so popular!!

SUNDAY.

Hello! Finally gotten myself a brand new point-and shoot camera after contemplating for some time. Its a Sony DSC HX90v weeee.. now that I think about it, I should have gotten the DSC WX500 instead since the difference are just viewfinder and a grip which I couldn’t care less and it costs RM 300 difference zzzz. On the other note, I pretty much satisfied with the cam. It has flip screen for selfie, wifi connection to transfer the photos to my phone and pretty good image sensor and 18.2 MP resolution.

Gonna show you some of the sample photos I took today with the cam, unedited becoz I still haven’t purchase new laptop yet and I don’t think I want to subscribe to CC also, prob will use Photoshop at computer lab at uni laa.

boyfriend excitedly took selca haha pretty good eh?

Had dinner at Myburgerlab today. Bf ordered Yellowsubmarine with Potato Salad, I never liked potato salad but took a bite on the burger and liked the yellow sauce thingy so muchhh!

close-up detail. Took this pic with gourmet setting on the camera and it brings out the color and vividness makes it looks yummier on picture 😉
Potato salad bf’s favorite!
Wondering what was the crispy thingy on my burger? That was actually sharp cheddar cheese hahah I ordered Jammin’ with Elvis, a burger with beef patty and smeared with PB and J. Strange combination eh? But it turned out so yummy.. this burger actually belongs to secret menu of MBL last time, then they ended up put it on the main menu weee means it is super popular right? perasan. Anyway, this is my favorite burger beside Vivien’s Husband (vegetarian) and Ultraman’s Burger. Gotta give a hands up for MBL team to came up with quirky and creative menu names hahah.

Dropped by at Fatbaby for dessert. I keep saying to bf that we both should cut down some carbs and hit the gym yadda yadda but look at us laa haha keep eating zzz.
School has already started so I might not be able to update this space regularly but I love to blog so I will still put an effort to squeeze in one or two posts while Im juggling between uni life and tons of assignments to do x_x
Till next time!

March!!

Okay, actually I wanted this post to be quick post before I headed off to Sunway Pyramid for movie time, but my bf keeps bugging me to go because we booked the 11:15 AM time slot movie so we did not missed the movie -_-

On Friday, I am back in Malaysia again! Hah, it feels weird because when I am at home, I keep telling myself I wanna be back so soon because I am bored to death! But, when I am actually here, I feels a bit emo instead. I guess when I am alone here, I have to do everything on my own, which I kinda hate but there is nothing you can do about it, but when I am back home, everything being taken care of. I am so selfish, I know.

Anyway, bf treated me this korea spicy pan-grilled chicken at SS15 Courtyard Mall. Mr.Dalkgalbi seemed like newly opened there because when I went there few months ago, it wasn’t there yet. I keep telling my bf that this is so spicy hor because he can’t eat spicy hahaha turns out you can request to be made less spicy version.

So, there is the waiter that will cook the chicken for you, that time we did not order with cheese because we are unsure with the dish. Scared later not nice mah.. but then we expressed our regret why didn’t we order cheese after went back home hahaha. It looks and taste shiok surely with cheese, I just checked out their tagged photos on instagram. Hm, next time gonna order with cheese, and extra ddeubokki (korean rice cake) I love it so damn much 😀

Shameless me takes over again hahaha btw really likes B612’s stickers leh, better than Snapchat’s one and SNOW app is totally out of my list now because it drains phone battery. Anyway, what is wrong nowadays with live video everywhere? I mean, if you are not famous or anything, do people actually bothers checking out your live vid? Are their lives is goddamn meaningless until they have to watch other ppl’s lives? -.-

Sozo Japanese Restaurant review @ Sunway Giza Mall

I have always been a fan of buffet (who doesn’t?) The idea of stuffing yourself with so many varieties of foods to choose from always makes me happy.
Malaysia spoil me with different choices of buffet restaurants, even the most bizzare buffet I couldn’t even think of (durian buffet.. eekkk!) shabu-shabu, steamboat, dimsum, western, pasta, japanese, well you name it. I have tried most of ’em and I should say I’m gonna miss all of those when I going back for good.
Sozo Japanese Restaurant @ Sunway Giza Mall is newly player when it comes to Japanese buffet. Japanese restaurants has been mushrooming in Selangor area recently and they even come up with clever idea, Japanese ala-carte buffet! Y know, if you visit Japanese restaurants frequently (Sakae Sushi, Sushi Tei, Sushi King, etc) it can cost a bomb to order even few dishes only. And that is when Japanese buffet restaurants come in rescue hahaha. The old-fashioned japanese buffet (by old-fashioned I mean those pre-cooked foods in mass and keep in warmer, that you need to queue with aunties, not to mention you don’t have any idea how long those foods have been sitting there) like Shogun, Saisaki, and Janggun (tried all of ’em, and it was pretty awful) are the first pioneer of Japanese buffets restaurants in Malaysia.
Having a pretty bad experience with those buffet restaurants (diarrhea, food taste weird and cold, and expensive price) I was craving for something new. Ala-carte Japanese buffet is the answer, because:
  1. It was cooked upon order, so you are guaranteed to get a freshly-cooked and warm food in your table.
  2. The price is cheaper, much much cheaper compare with Shogun or Jogoya and surprisingly it tastes much better and yummier.
  3. No more fighting to take foods with aunties (yeah kiasu aunties, i’m looking at ya) those who pilled up their plates with foods enough for whole kampong and ended up being wasted.. it hurts my heart pretty badly seeing that. 🙁
  4. Reducing the chance of food wasted. Y know, because it’s prepared upon order and the portion is smaller. No more being greedy and stacking up your plates with foods you don’t intend to eat in the end. This gives you room to sample more foods too.
My senior asked me out to try Sozo and by hearing two words that i like so much, buffet and japanese, I immediately agree. And boy, it was definitely a feast to remember. 😀

Sashimi! An all-time favorite and must have. I’m glad the sashimi was fresh and not too thick on the cutting. It was just nice.

forgot the name, but i think this was bamboo clam stir-fry thingy. I am not really a fan and this his order, he ate even before i got a chance to snapped a photo. T.T

soft shell crab mango salad with special sauce. I finished the soft shell but leave the veggies to him hahaha.
salmon carpachio. Not too my liking, I prefer raw sashimi. Yasss..
We still sample a lot more foods than these, but unfortunately my phone battery died so I had to stop snapping photos. But overall, 8/10 for the rating. Some things need to be improved, like the ordering system, they delivered the wrong orders sometimes and even forget to delivering some of our orders. And, ice cream replenished slowly. Out of 3 ice cream tubes, 2 of ’em almost finish already but still remain that way until the last order.
More info you can check out:
(by the way, you can check out their menu for actual price of each foods you have to spend if you were to pay for each of it. It’s awesome, you get to know if you already gain back your buffet money or not hahaha. My kiasuness reigns!)
